Bring your own lunch.Return to top of page Saturday 26 Sunday 27 JulyHawk and Owl Weekend Charity EventSaturday 26 July: Open AfternoonCome and visit the Acton Court grounds and join in activities to support The Hawk and Owl Trust. Chris Sperring, wildlife broadcaster, will be here with Cotleigh, the barn owl, to give advice and lead a nature walk. There will be a slide show, a Tit box-building workshop and other activities. Saturday Evening 26 July: An Evening with British OwlsJoin Chris Sperring MBE for a talk and slide show about British owls followed by an owl prowl around the grounds of Acton Court. Sunday 27 July: Falconry DisplaySpecial tours of the house, concentrating on hunting in Tudor times and including a Falconry Display by Chris Lock.
Return to top of page Friday 1 Sunday 3 AugustHarp Weekend with Jan WaltersCome and hear Harps in the authentic Tudor environment of Acton Court, with workshops, informal master classes, a lecture, and concerts. We begin with a recital by historical harpist, Jan Walters on Friday night, featuring music and harps spanning five centuries and end with an informal student concert on the Sunday afternoon. Other events include a lecture by Simon Capp, early harp maker, and classes on accompanying with harp, continuo and a hands on session with a variety of early harps.
