Saturday 17 June

Heritage Fair Open Day

A special charity event in aid of South Gloucestershire Museums and Heritage centres. Come and celebrate the rich history of the region with a variety of activities including archery, dancing, object identification, Peterkin the Fool and traditional 16th century music by The York Waits. Gail Boyle from Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery and presenter of the heritage programme Stashed Away will be showing a selection of rarely seen archaeological finds from Acton Court. The house will be open and there will be a variety of stalls, refreshments and children’s activities in the grounds. An event for all the family.

Sunday 25 June

Painting Day

The site will be open for people to come and paint at Acton Court. Resident Artist, Lisa Kopper, will be available to give assistance if required.

Saturday 8 July

Wildlife Painting with Chris Jones

Professional wildlife artist Chris Jones will lead this workshop, sketching and painting birds of prey. Chris exhibits regularly at a variety of venues including the Society of Wildlife Artists and the Mall Galleries, also selling at Sothebys and Christies. He has produced a wide variety of commissioned work for zoos, magazines, private collections and has won many awards, including The Wildlife Artist's Gold Award. All proceeds to the The Hawk and Owl Trust

Thursday 27 July

Portrait of a Lady with Ian Cryer ROI

Participants in this workshop will have the opportunity to paint an authentically costumed Tudor Lady with expert tuition from Ian Cryer. Ian has exhibited widely and has undertaken commissions for clients as varied as The House of Lords, Bristol Rovers FC and Longleat House. He is currently artist in residence for Crossrail.
