Tudor Manuscripts and Illumination –
a workshop with Josie Brown

Scribe and accredited CLAS tutor, Josie Brown, looks at the history of Tudor manuscripts and the decorative techniques used to make them. Participants create illuminated initials guided by Josie. Bring your own calligraphy materials or these can be purchased on site; a list will be supplied.

Painting Day

The site will be open for artists of all abilities to come and paint at Acton Court. Resident artist, Lisa Kopper, will be available to give assistance if required. Please note: bring your own materials, any media except oil paints.

Wildlife Broadcasting: a personal voyage

Radio and Television broadcaster, and well known conservationist, Chris Sperring MBE tells how he became involved with broadcasting and explores the differences between working in the mediums of television and radio. Chris imparts some of the secrets of his trade and gives the audience a bit of first hand experience.

Owl Prowls

Join Chris Sperring MBE for an evening of owl lore and information followed by a conducted Owl Prowl in the grounds. Acton Court is host to three species of owl and these are often (though not guaranteed) to be seen or heard in the evenings.
