Sunday 19 August

The King’s Pavan

Renaissance ensemble, The York Waits, present a programme of music and readings from the life and times of Henry VIII. Henry’s tumultuous reign is reflected in narration and music, using original texts and authentic stringed and wind instruments of the period, such as shawms and sackbut, lute, gittern and harp, recorders and flutes.

Broadcaster Tim Healy of the Oxford Waits performs the narration.

The Waits: Tim Bayley, William Marshall, John Peel, Roger Richardson with Susan Marshall, renaissance violin and rebec.
