(The Bookseller) Alison Weir will be talking about Henry VIII, the man and the King, and setting him within the context of his court, the most magnificent in English history – a grand stage rich in pageantry, intrigue, passion and luxury. Seen from this new perspective, Henry emerges as a fully rounded and realistic personality, not the two-dimensional caricature of popular misconception. Alison will also make reference to the visit of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn to Acton Court in 1535, and talk about the events surrounding it. Alison Weir will be available to sign copies of her books, which will be for sale on the day. 3:00pm, tickets £10 (£8 concessions)Contact usReturn to top of pageBooking informationNext page |
